Alrighty. The Admin Team has been noticing some continuing problems with shows, show entries, and show results. Soo... some guidelines for the future.
(1) Shows/Classlists:
(1.1) It's in the BITS rules, but I will stress it again -- Classlists and rules must be realistic! Do your research before holding a show including a discipline you're not familiar with. Don't offer disciplines together than aren't run together in real life. Etc. Common sense, people.
(2) Show Entries:
(2.1 )If there is an entry format, FOLLOW IT. Do not change the order of the required information. Do not add or remove spaces or dividers. Do not add stars, dashes, or ANYTHING before the horses' names.
(3) Show Results:
(3.1) Results must be out within a reasonable amount of time. If you're too busy to do this, don't host a show. Simple as that. If something unexpected comes up, ask for help or cancel the show and grant full refunds to all who entered. Don't leave everyone hanging and out on entry fees.
(3.2) If, in real life, the discipline you're holding does not give scores to all entrants, do not post results including every single horse in the class! For example, in hunter and jumper classes, they are never pinned lower than 10th. Some h/j shows don't even pin below 6th. Alternately, in eventing and dressage, all the horses are scored... so if you wish, in those disciplines you could list all the horses in the results. It is not, however, mandatory to do so in any case.
(3.3) If you are not including every entrant in the results, the number of entrants must be listed. For example:
1. Working Hunter Under Saddle (10 entrants)
(3.4) Results must be done in the correct spreadsheet format BEFORE being posted on the message board. If you haven't had time to do the spreadsheet yet, DON'T post results. However, it is not necessary to post results on the message board. A simple post saying "Results are now in the database" is sufficient.
This will most likely be added to in the future. Please check back frequently.
