Hi there! My name is Lauren and I'm obviously a new person here. I am nineteen, a college student [a.k.a. poor and sleep-deprived] and a professional horse-lover. I own a fifteen year old Quarter Horse named Juke and play around in hunter seat and dressage, because he looks silly in a western saddle.
I used to play simulations back-in-the-day, where I was in The Bridle Path and I was a DREAM member at one point. I was/am involved in a few roleplays as well. Now, I'm trying to supplement simming again between classes, work, riding and studying; I just need something else to do!
Well, I'm planning on starting a small team of Quarter Horses who will compete in Hunt Seat, Equitation, Pleasure, Trail, Cutting and Reining. I would like to have a paint or two also, and hopefully will open up Iron Tree Performance in the near future, as I am itching to get a simulated stable started again!
My favorite things include the color white, stationary, painting furniture, organizing the tack room and getting Schnuk [Juke] into frame.
What is the Quarter Horse population like here?

Hey Lauren, welcome to BITS I'm Shelly, the owner of Equus Me. There's three main branches of Equus Me: Champion's Bid Ranch, where my stock horses stay, Foxtail Sporthorses, where all my sporthorses live, and Hill Point Estate, my Thoroughbred racing farm. I focus on... nothing... and own... everything... lol. I also offer boarding at all three locations, so if you are interested, do not hesitate to PM me about boarding I usually work out a few based upon what you're looking for and the number of horses... so yeah... As for the Quarter Horse population, it's pretty good. I'm thinking of bringing back my reining and cutting association, and seeing how far I can get with that again. I do host open Western shows at my stock farm, and plan on starting the 2009 Steeplechasing Season in March (yay I cannot wait for March!! ) I can't wait to see what lines you bring in

Heylooo! I love your horses name btw ^^ I own a Samsung Juke (phone) so I laughed when you said that lol I'm not a stock horse person, but since I own the BITS Horse Rescue Center, I've learned a bit about them! I actually own Arabian & Pony sporthorses at Hayes End Stud, and I also own the Sporthorse Association, which would be good for your hunter horses as soon as I get another show up lol The QH population isn't as high as the Paint horse's, and since Gwen and Jen (the gals who have mostly stock horses) are busy, Shelly would probably be the one with the biggest QH herd. I think there's enough here for ya though! In RL my horse situation is very... complicated =P I do own a little Quarter Pony (she's ancient... blind in one eye... founder survive-ee, poor thing!) whom I love, she's the one in my avvie btw Other than that... it IS complicated haha. Not exactly sure where I am =/ I'm a freshman in high school, and I also have a dog named Conner, whom I love as well ^^ Welcome to BITS, I LOVE seeing new people! And if you ever need help or anything, just PM me, I love helping!

I think Gwen or Jen would have more Quarter Horses than me... hm. Gwen has 12 Quarter Horses, Jen has 21 Quarter Horses, and I have 11 and more coming (as I plan on breeding a few horses this weekend... hehe).

Thank you for the welcome! I didn't know there was a phone with that name! That's pretty cool though, he's such a good boy.
I was reading up on the forums earlier, Nicole, and I am glad that she is doing better from your previous post! I haven't had any serious complications with Juke yet, but I'm always a worried mom seeing as he is getting older! He still acts like a three year old though, but I might have to put him on some joint suppliments soon enough ]:
Right now I'll be figuring out what lines I want, I think some Skipper W or something classic like that, maybe Krymsun. I would like to have a good Paint horse or two as well, I'm not as familiar with lines so any suggestions would be wonderful!

For Paint lines, I'm still learning them, but I found that lot of the cow/working western lines stem from the foundation Quarter Horse lines, like King, King Fritz, ect. and they were crossed onto Paints later down the road. I usually google lines to get me started, and then go from there.

Hi there Lauren! My name is Kate! I own Rising Star Farms, or RS for short. It was a small time Thoroughbred training farm with some boarding, but now it's name is becoming known. He still accept boarders and everything, so feel free to PM me or anything if you want to board.
I currently do mostly Thoroughbreds, but I do have some crosses and warmbloods for showing, but not as many as I have Thoroughbreds.
Anyway, welcome to BITS and I hope you enjoy it!

Hi Lauren! I'm Rainbow, one of the admins here. I own Wildwind Equestrian Centre and focus on hunters, jumpers, and dressage horses -- mostly Warmbloods and Thoroughbreds. I also run hunter/jumper and dressage shows -- they were monthly, but right now I'm living in the UK and don't have as much time as I used to. In real life, I ride dressage but am currently learning how to jump. I don't own a horse but back home in the States I was half-leasing a 20y/o Thoroughbred gelding named Xavier and we did dressage.

Welcome, Lauren! I'm Gwen and one of the admins! I am not around much right now because things are crazy and I am stretched a bit thin. I am studying abroad in the UK right now and a Jr. in College who is concentrating on keeping her grades up and getting into a PhD eventually.
In RL, I had horses before leaving for the UK, but sold when I realized I would probably be leaving the country again for grad school in a year. So, it just didn't make sense. I actively showed paints when I was younger.
I am glad you are into stock breeds. I focus mainly on them in the game and run both the BITS Stock Breed Registry and Show Me Halter and Performance Horses. Welcome and I hope you have fun!
