Well, showjumping, dressage, hunters, and stock breed stuff is really popular, as is racing.
Welcome in, Amy!
My name is Gwen and I am one of the admins. In RL, I am a junior in University. I go to IU in the states, but am currently studying abroad in the UK. I used to own a horse, but had to give that up when I moved over here to study. I'm probably coming back for grad school, so it just made more sense that way. In the game, I own the BITS Stock Breed Association and Show Me Halter and Performance Horses, which specializes in stock breeds.
If you are looking to do western showing, I believe I have several horses currently for sale on our sales board. If you are interested, please let me know! Also, if you need a place to board, SMHP is always open :-D
We hope you have a great time!

Welcome to BITS Amy! My name is Shelly, and I own Equus Me. My focus is to focus on everything ( ) and I literally do have everything between my three farms (currently, and growing). In the real world, I write, read, and draw (or try to). I am also learning MySQL/PHP by myself, with help from Maya, and I code websites and do a little bit of web designing. I'm not good at the artistic part yet but... I'm getting there! Equus Me also offers boarding, so if you are interested feel free to PM me. Each boarding plan is set up by what you want to use, what services you'd like, ect. and is fully coustomized.

Welcome to the BITS gang Amy!
My name is Kate and I own the up and coming Rising Star Farm. We specialize mostly in racing Thoroughbreds, but we also have a little bit of everything else thrown in. We have eventers, jumpers, dressage horses, western horses, and a bunch of babies that we are currently waiting to be old enough to train.
We offer boarding here for any type of horse, so stop by and check it out. We welcome anyone and there are also boarding plans that you can look at and choose from.
And as Gwen said, jumping, dressage, some western discipline and racing are some of the post popular things.

Hey Amy! Welcome to Bits! I'm Elise, and I own Devonshire Estate, which will hopefully soon be changing to Alzi la Barra (Raise the Bar in Italian) which is a purely hunter and jumper stable. We have a fairly decent sale going on with Sporthorses and I think some Thoroughbreds, they're all eventers or dressage horses. If you're interested, offer away I'd love to see them go to a good home for cheap than sit with me and do nothing In real life, I ride mainly Dressage but we're getting into eventing and show jumping through the United States Pony Club this summer. Mmm.... other than that, I'm a photo major finishing up my first year of school and I love fencing! You said you've never had horses before, but do you take riding lessons or get to be around them at all?

Welcome to BITS, Amy! I'm another of the admins, Rainbow. I own Wildwind Equestrian Centre, which focuses on hunters, jumpers, and dressage. I own mostly Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods, and a few Dales Ponies. I also run some hunter/jumper and dressage shows.
In real life, I, like Gwen, am currently studying abroad in the UK. Back in the States, I rode dressage on a lovely Thoroughbred gelding named Xavier who I half-leased; here, I'm learning the ins and outs of showjumping on an Irish Cob gelding named Finn.
Any of the disciplines you've picked are quite popular... we're excited to see what horses you have and what you get into! Hopefully you enjoy your time here in the game. =)
