Hi everyone,
My name is Samantha. I'm new here so logically I thought I should say hey!
I tend to talk too much so I'll try to keep this short! But, here’s some info about me so y'all can get to know me.
I'm 26, originally from Colorado. I moved to Florida 3 and a half years ago. I've been riding since I was about 7, and bought my first horse at the age of 11. Since then I've had quite a few, but currently I have 2. My retired mare and very first horse Katie, and an Appaloosa gelding that I am leasing to buy at the end of this year. I've worked with green horses and I teach youth beginner lessons. I spent a summer in Ireland as a working student. I worked for 2 years as a co-stable manager while I was at CSU. So, I am not lacking for experience. I ride mainly dressage and combined training, though the past few years I haven't been competing due to an injury, change in horses, and a move.
Outside of horses my interests include leadership and community development. I teach ESE at the elementary level. I spent 4 years earning a degree in Early Child Hood Development at CSU where I was an RA and a president of my hall government. I also did foal care volunteer work at Colorado State. I've got a year left finishing a MA in education here in Fl. I'm hoping to move to the Orlando area to teach, and start a therapeutic riding program when I graduate. I love photography which I just recently took up, and I like to read.
As far as simming goes I've been around. I started in Horse Country years ago, and have played in a few bigger games fairly consistently ever since. I've done a bit of everything so I'm really not sure what I want to do with in B.I.T.S. I suppose it will depend on the market. But, since leasing my gelding I've gained an interest in the Appaloosa Breed.
So now you all know a lot more then you ever wanted to know about me. I'd like to get to know you all! Please say hi and let me know who you are!

Hi Samantha!
My name is Evanthe and I own WLF(White Lotus Farm). I concentrate on Draft Horses as well as a few other breeds, Sport Horse types mostly.
I've never had the pleasure of owning my own horse, but I did lease a Standardbred for 4-H a few summers ago and used to ride with Gwen(another BITS member) on her mare. I hope to own my own horse sometime in the future though. Most likely a saddle trained draft horse. I'm crazy about them, lol.

Hello, Samantha! I'm Gwen, one of the admins here! Welcome to BITS :-D
Several of us on here do theraputic riding as either volutneers/paid workers, so that is so cool to here you are interested in that, too! Also, I am a student government nerd myself. I just got done planning a huge program, so I can finally breathe easy. LOL
I guess I will introduce myself. I'm 20, a student at IU Bloomington. I have paints in RL. My newest is a little filly named Olivia, who was born on the 12th. I am 4 hours from home, so it seems like I NEVER see my horse. I am a Poli Sci major and volunteer at the local therapy center. In BITS, I have mainly stock horses and a select few sport horses and own Show Me Halter and Performance Horses and the BITS Stock Breed Registry.
If you decide to do Eventing, Stock Breeds, Showjumping, Dressage, or Drafts, you will be in good company! :-D

Thanks for the welcome ladies!
I do have one problem though. I just tried to send Maya a PM about my portal registration and it gave me the message:
The only thing I can see is that when I type it in I'm typingMaya and when it comes back it's all lower case as in maya, but either way neither works. And, I know she exists lol! What should I do?

Maya's technically listed as 'admin' here on the forum, so try typing that in Anywho, welcome to BITS! I'm Christie, 20 yrs old, currently attending Texas A&M. In RL, I own a 4 yr old Thoroughbred gelding named Mystery who I plan to eventually event with, as I'm completely obsessed with the sport. Actually, having a baby is killing me at the moment haha; I'm having serious cross country withdrawls. Here in BITS, I own Simple Charms Equestrian Center, along with a few other establishments, and focus on, big surprise, eventing Welcome again to BITS, I hope you enjoy it as much as all of us do! And if you have any more questions, just let us know. We don't normally bite

Hi Samantha! I'm Rainbow, another of the admins here. In the game, I own Wildwind Equestrian Centre and the Hunter/Jumper Association. In real life, I half-lease a 20y/o Thoroughbred ex-eventer, Xavier. We do dressage, and occasionally pretend to be hunters for flat and poles classes. Hopefully I'll be able to show him in dressage and at a few hunter shows this spring/summer. =) My aunt and her family are down in Orlando -- the middle daughter is a rider and owns a young paint mare (long story, not a decision I would've made, green horse, green rider... I guess it's worked out okay for them, though?). Anyways. Again, welcome. =) HOpefully you enjoy it here!

Welcome to BITS Samantha! I'm Nicole (obviously) and in RL I'm a midget in 8th grade lol. I ride Arabians for my trainer/distant relative and plan on showing this spring (yay!) in hunt seat. I also own a little Quarter Pony named Peanut who's out at my trainers barn. The poor girl sounds like she's been in a war, but she's much happier where she is now than at "The Other Barn" as I refer to it =P Your Appy sounds like a sweetie though I must say I'm partial to Arabs =P Anyways... here I own Lorey Lane Farms, which specializes in Arabs (haha) and TB racers, along with a couple of oddballs. If you're looking for eventers I have some for sale lol. I also own the BITS Arabian Horse Association and the BITS Horse Rescue Center, which has tooons of horses available for adoption as well. I'm so glad to see a new faace! And I hope you have as much fun as we do!

Hey Samantha! I am Jen and I own Diamond Elite Farms. I focus on stock breeds with an emphasis on appaloosas in the game. In RL I own a now 4y/o app gelding named Jorge. I had a 12 y/o app mare that had to put-down in the summer due to an injury. Stock breeds are pretty big here and I am happy to have another appy luver! I also have a growing string of race horses. BITS is one of the best games out there. We are friendly and active. Can't wait to meet your horses!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I have to say I am so excited. I have tried a lot of games over the last year or two looking for something fresh and new, and most of the time I end up leaving because either the game is in active, or because players are catty and its hard to break the newbie mold. You all see great! I'm going to have some tough decisions to make! Pretty much all my interests seem to be big here! These are my two RL babies! Katie is the bay QH mare. If you can believe it she's 26 this year! I've had her for 16 years! Slick is the appy. He'll be 7 in May. He's my big fat baby! He was a case of someone who was a green rider buying a green horse. To say the least the match wasn't a good one. I've been leasing him for the past two years and now she wants to sell so he will be my graduation present when I finish my masters early next year. The two girls are two of the kids I give lessons to on the weekends. This picture was from just before Christmas so it's cold and they are a little shaggy, but so cute... of course I'm biased!

No! They're VERY cute! Katie does not look 26 at all. And cold?! If the girls are wearing, what, one, two layers lol... not cold. Floridians are so funny (though you said you're from Colorado -- you are supposed to comprehend the meaning of cold!).

lol ok it was cold for Florida like 65 haha. Katie still gets a winter coat like it's going to be 10 below. But, since I live in North Florida where it still gets down into the 30's and sometimes below freezing at night I'm hesitant to clip her.
She deffinately does not look her age, but she does have some pretty bad arthritis so she only gets riden by little kids and only at walk trot now. When I move to Orlando... depending on how she handle's it, since its a year a way and a lot can change, I'm hoping to get her involved as a therapy horse at the theraputic riding center near by. I think she'd be good at it. All she's done for 18 years is cart kids around. I love them both a ton!

Lol. 65 -- that's fantastic and balmy weather! If only we could have 65 here all the time (I'm from northern Illinois, near Chicago -- it was below zero most of last weekend lol)...
That would be wonderful. =) Therapeutic riding centres do such wonderful work...

Aww, they're both adorable! I would never had guessed that Katie was 26! And 65... that would be a heat wave here. The high for the rest of the week is like 27 I think; I envy you and your warmth *sneaks down south* Therapeutic riding is great, I think my pony's on a list for one center, but now that I've had Peanut at my trainers and have been able to be around her, I don't know if I want to give her up! lol.

Hey Samantha, I'm Aryn. I just joined a little over a week ago. I am pretty set on focusing on hunters here in BITS since that is really all I know.
I don't own any horses of my own but I love the lesson horses I ride very dearly. I would gladly trade the weather at my house for 65 degree weather, it's like in the 30's and windy here right now.

Your horses are gorgeous. Your appy looks like a big version of the POA we used to own :-D
And yeah, I agree. 65 = warm. I ran two miles today (INDOORS) because I couldn't do it outside. It was 2 degrees wind chill :-P However, you guys deal with hurricanes. I totally couldn't handle all of that. I'm also originally from the Chicago area, so this is just normal cold. And reeeallly windy :-P

God, today was 18*F and I was walking around without a coat on saying 'wtf it's so WARM outside!!' /Canuck rant And I'm sorry it totally took me a million years to welcome you to the game, but I'm just slow like that I'm Maya, the last of the Admins, and I own Camelot Canada and run a bunch of associations that I'm totally not on top of at the moment because I suck at life. But anyway, I hope you enjoy the game as much as all of us do, and that you stick around for a long time! =D

I love your horses! They are both gorgeous. Yes BITS has a ton of disciplines that are huge. I too tried a few other games but hated running into inactivity, too many jumpers/hunters/eventers (sorry girls) with no stock breeds, and trouble having someone in the game ackowledge that you exist (even when you try to participate in a conversation). I am happy for your graduation present!
