This is a show opportunity for all breeds and offers a variety of classes. For the remainder of 2006 we will be hosting a bunch of shows and hope to award some year end points and recognitions to winners. We aren’t an official club this year, but we hope to be for the 2007 show season once a mini barn is set up for us to show in! Next year we will be adding sweepstakes classes, blanket fees, daily hi-points, and possibly challenge classes! Plus the shows will be a little more spread out for 2007! This is a one day open show so there are no stall reservations. Divisions are based on rider age groups, and points will be tallied on horse/rider combos. You can enter one horse in two divisions with two different riders but you must make note of this and fill all rider information in on the horses entry form. One entry form per horse.

Class and Rule Clarifications
* All bits rules for entering events apply
*Riders age is as of January 1, 2006
* Pony height to be 56” and under
*The green horse/green rider is a walk/trot division open to any age. It is designed to encourage riders that are not yet ready to lope or canter. It is also for more experienced riders on young horses not yet ready to lope or canter. We do not encourage green riders on green horses!
*Green horse/green riders are not eligible for championship classes
*Championship, Sweepstakes (coming 2007), Challenge (coming 2007), and grooms classes do not count towards daily hi-point (coming 2007)
*Daily hi-point awards are calculated on a one horse/rider basis (2007)
*Exhibitors may enter more than one halter class, but only your best halter placing will count for daily hi-point (2007)
*Exhibitors in the grooms class may not show in any other riding class, but may show in halter and showmanship
*We reserve the right to combine classes if there are fewer than four entries (among age groups)
*The lunge line class will follow the NSBA rules
*Flying lead changes will not be required in the western riding classes
*Green hunter over fences class, jumps will not exceed 24” (2007)
*Western riding will alternately use AQHA, APHA, and MIHA patterns 1 and 2. Copies will be available at the show office
*SEI/STM helmets are “strongly recommended” but not required
*Jr. horses are 5 years and under, Sr. horses are 6 years and over
*Each horse/rider team may compete in only one division/show (2007)
*Each horse/rider team must use the same back number all season in order for year end points to accumulate (2007)
*Lead line class is free, but exhibitors must still enter
*Points awarded through sixth place (1st=5pts, 2nd=4pts, 3rd=3pts, 4th=2pts, 5th=1pt, and 6th=1/2pt, 7th=honorable mention)
*A current Negative Coggins Test (dated after Dec 1, 2005) will be required to show (when we get a vet this will be enforced)
*Members must show in at least half the shows hosted for year end awards (enforced 2007)

I will be keeping track of points for the rest of the year, but next year a membership is going to be required for year end awards. Here is some clarification on the class divisions:

These are the age groups points will be awarded to:

20 & over
16-19
13-15
12 & Under
Green horse/Green rider
Please don't sign up one rider for more than one age group so make sure you double check your enttries and please don't sign up one horse for more than two full divisions

I may also have awards for barns, western horse, english horse, and all-around grand champion for the year.

Once I have a mini barn set up I will have a page on the website that is a little more organized.

Fun Fact: This is an actual showbill from a competitive open show circuit that I have been showing at the past few years.

I will reenter the 1st and 2nd place horses in the grand champion classes at no charge and will post those results with all the other results.

What does 100% color mean in the color class? Does that mean the horse has to be homozygous?

100% color means that the horse is judged only on color and which is best suited for the breed that they represent. Some color classes have 50/50 (half on color/half on conformation). Hope this helps.
