BITS Sport Horse Association
July 20th Licensing Trial
Forms due July 22nd
The BSHA Licensing Program certifies exemplary stallions and mares for sport horse breeding. Licensed horses will be listed in the BSHA Studbook and promoted as quality sport horse producers.
Licensing will be judged as follows for both stallions and mares:
»Confirmation: 30%
»Walk: 15%
»Trot: 15%
»Canter: 15%
»Freejump: 25%
Horses must be registered with the BSHA in order to be eligible for licensing. Any breed may apply, however applicants must be at least three years of age with known first-generation lineage. In order to pass the licensing trial, horses must recieve a score of 67.0% or higher. Horses recieving a score of 80% or higher will be listed as 'Silver Premium,' and horses recieveing a score of 90% or higher will be listed as 'Gold Premium'.
Horses will be licensed in four books: Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing, and Combined Driving. A horse may apply for two books at each trial, and may be licensed with a total of three books. A horse already licensed in a certain book may not reapply in attempt to earn a higher premium. A horse who applied for a certain book but was not approved may reapply only once more.
