Ooookay. I'm starting to get annoyed. The activity checks are NOT just to ensure members are active -- they are also in place to ensure you can follow instructions put to you.
So. From this moment on:
[-]Respond using the correct form. I don't care, no excuse will convince me that you don't have the time to fill out 4 one-word answers.
[-]If instructions say to do something prior to responding, DO IT.
ie, DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS MONTH'S ACTIVITY CHEQUE UNTIL YOU HAVE SET UP A BANK ACCOUNT.
[-]You are not special. You do not get to just not respond to the activity cheques because you don't feel like it. I don't care if you're the most active member in the world and have posted a million times since the check was posted -- you must still respond to it! If your name is on that list, I need a response from you. If you don't post one, you will not get your monthly salaries, and you face a very real risk of being deleted, banned, and having your horses confiscated and sold. If you are legitimately away, and have posted or contacted me about it, fine. That's perfectly acceptable. But if you are actively posting elsewhere on the forum and are obviously 'here' -- no excuses.
[-]Another note on 'being away'. If you are going somewhere, are busy, whatever, and as a result, will not be able to be active in the game for a period of time -- post saying so (If you email me, I can't guarantee you will be counted -- your best bet is to post on the Absences board). Everyone is really good about this, so I'm not worried. But some additional guidelines:
-Include the date you are leaving AS WELL AS your expected date of return.
-Please respond to your post when you return.
-If you are going to be away for an extended period of time (2 months or longer), note that you WILL NOT be exempt from activity checks forever. You must respond to an activity check at least every other month to remain in the game -- if you do not, you will be deleted, banned, and your horses confiscated and sold. No ifs, ands or buts. It is NOT difficult to get on a computer for 5 minutes once every 2 months to respond. Seriously.
[-]If for some reason you are in a situation where you may be away for longer than 2 months and will have absolutely no internet access or will not be able to respond to activity checks for some other (good) reason... contact me privately through PM. We will discuss a date at which you MUST check in with me by in order to remain in the game. I am an understanding person. I am busy myself, and I know life doesn't always go the way we want it to. Things come up. BUT, if the game is important to you, you need to make some sort of effort. I'm not going to babysit you -- I have far better things to do... like try to make the game better for the members who actually put effort into it in return.
Sorry if this sounded exceptionally bitchy. I'm getting a tad frustrated with people being unable (or unwilling) to read and follow instructions and expecting special treatment. The majority of you guys are wonderful members who don't cause me mental stress on a daily basis <3
PLEASE, please, please follow these guidelines. It makes life much happier for me!
