Alrighty, as some of you may have noticed, the new BITS site is now up on the 'official' BITS domain. You will now use this URL to access it, as well as the new portal:
bits.mayakenedy.com/
If you click on 'BITS Main Site' in the list of links at the top of the forum, it will also take you there. The old URL for the new template site will no longer be updated, and will be removed within a few days.
Obviously, the new site is not yet complete.
Joining is currently disabled until I get a chance to finish the site... HOWEVER, if you know of someone who wants to join, have them email me with their name, email address, age, and previous SIM game experience -- I will most likely approve them if they appear mature and coherent in their email. I definitely want you guys to be out there scouting for new members! Heaven knows we need them.
You will also notice, on the 'Guests' page, that there is a search box. This allows non-members to search the MHR and find horses that they have sold into the game (or foals of horses they have sold into the game) so that they can keep track of whatever they need to. They will be able to see all vet records, show records, offspring records, etc. When purchasing horses in All-Sim or from other games, you may want to mention this -- some people are hesitant to sell into games where they can't see everything, and this may help circumvent that issue.
Establishments stuff is far from done... Unfortunately. But, on the positive side, it will give us a chance to start fresh with only current, active establishments listed. Now is the time for all of you to make sure all your websites are up to date and following our current website guidelines. Once establishment submissions open up, ONLY websites that are complete, up to date, and passing all minimum standards will be accepted -- any that are not will be closed. You will not get an additional grace period -- this is it. So get on it!
Also note that the FAQ and Library have been updated.
Now, and this is important, I will discuss the Portal. Obviously, the new one is incomplete. Any function that you can access on the new portal is currently available. If you do not see it there, you must use the old portal. =D
What else...
Ah. Yes. The rule changes that were being discussed a few weeks ago -- the admin team still has to go over all that was brought up and make a final decision, but it looks like most (if not all) of the changes are going to be implemented in some form or another. Expect to hear some news regarding that in the next little while.
And finally, I still need lots of help inputting old shows into the database so they show up in the portal! I've done most of them myself, and I don't think it's really fair that it's all on me to do so when I've spent hours coding the website so that showrecords can even be kept online -- not to mention the fact that I'm working four jobs right now and was in school until the end of August. There are still over a hundred shows that need to be entered (I've entered about 150 myself, by the way), and no one is going to get paid until all of them are done. Remember that I'm giving away $10 000 per day per show! This is a fantastically easy way to make a ton of cash, guys, if nothing else. Any little bit will help! Right now, that's my top priority, so I'm not going to get any show results out or do any real work on the website until every show is done and out of the way. Blech.
I think that is all.... I will end this with a plea for activity. With Gwen & Rainbow off to the UK, and almost everyone else in school, we're going to have to really come together and work extra hard to keep this game going and alive!
