*Make sure all your horses got seen by the vet and farrier at least once last year. It's a good idea to get all your ponies vetted and farriered at the beginning of the year, so you don't forget later!
*You should review your facilities to ensure you have adequate space for all your ponies.
*Review the rules & guidelines on the BITS site. They have changed!
*Review your websites to make sure they are all up to date.
*(Starting this year) You need to know how many months, total, your mares have been in foal. At the end of 2009, I'll ask everyone to post this number (for mares who foaled in 2009) and rewards will be given on a gradated scale to those who have a total of one month or more.
Any other suggestions?

*MAKE SURE ALL YOUR HORSES INFORMATION IS UP TO DATE IN THE PORTAL! There are still tons of horses without damsire's, origins, heights... Eventually horses with incomplete information will just get deleted... so you want to get on top of this!

Will grade horses, like my ancient rescue horse Encore Presentation, be deleted if they have 'unknown' as their sire, dam, and damsire? Or is that alright, since she's a grade rescue? If it's not, I'll get some horses xP
And, will horses with a blank discipline be deleted? I don't put disciplines on any horses 2 and younger, because I don't choose what they do until they are three years old. If that needs to be filled out, I can.

Maya, do we need to have damsires listed in the portal? I didn't realize that was necessary information.

Nicole -- no, for grades, it's not neccessary. If you want, you can add sires/dams/damsires and I'll change the horse to be not grade, but it's not mandatory. About disciplines... I'm not going to be as obsessive about it, lol. For young horses, I suppose it will be ok... the problem is when there are tons of 'holes' in the database, it puts a lot of strain on it for some reason and makes it sometimes do stupid things. So again, if you want to add whatever disciplines they are prospects for, that would be cool, but if not, that's also cool. I'm more worried about damsires, origins, heights, and stuff like that. Rainbow -- yes, it's mandatory and has been since... June, I think? I posted about it somewhere, lol. There's no real rush or anything, so don't freak out and think you have to do it today or anything... just whenever you guys get the chance. I'm not going to be evil and delete horses in a week or anything. It just seemed like people had forgotten about the 'get the mhr up to date' push. lol. Also, when you guys get the chance -- make sure all horses you bred have you listed as the breeder. And make sure that all horses you previously owned have you listed as a previous owner. You can just send me a list of all horses who need changes made and what they need changed -- it won't take too long, I promise. I'm also working on it from my end, updating those horses who's information I randomly know off the top of my head, but I don't know everyone's horses.

Ah right. I obviously missed something somewhere, sorry! I'll get on that ASAP (after exams are over -- Thursday and Friday are my three exams). =)

Why thank you. I need it. I've got Psychology on Thursday (yikes... I need to do some hardcore studying) and English Language and Maths on Friday (I'm all set for maths, but definitely need to brush up on my language stuff). =)
