Hey everyone, I'm Samantha a.k.a Sam. I am 15 years old and live in New England. Anyways I ride dressage and endurance. I own two horses and where I live we have a total of five right now. Though with a new barn going up we'll have another boarder.
Okay in dressage I have no clue where I am in level due to the fact that I haven't been riding school ponies in schooling shows anymore. In endurance I do 50 miles in like 8 hours though normlaly coming in top 30. Not the best but yeah I dont' go out to win.
Okay for now it is time for my horses. I don't have any Good pictures since I suck at taking them. haha...anyways
My two horses
Captain Midnight is a 35 year old Paint Pony .Yup he is 35 or 36 I think this year. Anyways he is absolutely adorable. I got him when I was 5. He was bought from a horse fram called No Baloney Ponies by a dressage rider who had two girls at home. He was soon their little pony. I don't know how old he was at this point but it doesnt' matter. They did dressage on him, I'm not sure at which level though and they did some jumping on them. hehe I still can't imagine him jumping. Then the owner let a family take him until their children outgrew him which they did so they sent him back. Then we got him. At first he was at my grandmother's house since we didn't have a barn built. I used to go over there and ride him. He was the cutest thing. Once my dad finished with putting together a stall in the barn that we had since it was in good shape now. He moved in with us when he was 27 or 26. I don't remember what age he was because it wasn't a factor I was worried about. Anyways I started to ride him on the trails with someone walking beside me since I was a beginner rider. For about 4 months this is what happened until my other horse Linkk arrived. My mom started to ride with me and we hit the trails. I could ride him around our circular driveway alone and sometimes my dad would walk me down into the field next door. This little guy dumped me plenty of times. He would just drop his shoulder when we were walking sending me over, he dropped his shoulder when we were cantering against our neighbor who owned a Quarterxthorourghbred gelding. Plus numerous other times. He was a blast to ride. Anyways when he was 28 he coliced when we got back from a ride. We thought it was through later that night but he was in distress when my mom went to check on him. When he went under go surgery he had a sand block. It was removed and he went back to his happy go lucky self. He is the special guy in the pasture and is spoiled rotten by all.
Linkk is my 17 year old Arabian gelding. I do endurance and dressage on him and he loves it. I hope we do a 100 next year but that is hopeful thinking. I am hoping to move him up to Training Level this year in dressage but it depends on how well I can get him to do canter on the left lead. His is the boss of the pasture and is the imp. Though he is also spoiled rotten by me. Haha, he is my specail baby boy.
Family Horses
Ishta is my dads 16 year old arabian gelding. He has no manners but that is something we are working on. Before we got him he was spoiled rotten so he has issues about space and other things. He is also the fattest horse of the bunch. Though my dad loves him and that is what matters. The both of them did their first 30 mile endurance ride this year and they both did good.
Jahyr Jamlin is my moms 15 year old arabian gelding. He has retired himself from 100 mile endurance rides due to the fact he never enjoyed them with his former owner. He is the wimp of the pasture but enjoys all the attention we give him. He is a whole different horse than what we got 4 years ago.
Montana is my grandmother's 7 year old arabian gelding. He is the brat of the pasture and is the dumbest horse. Well not really he is so smart he's dumb. We make fun of him alot. He hasnt' started doing endurance yet but I hope that I can ride him in endurance in a few years.
So that is my horse herd. Beware the pictures I give you suck so yeah. They all have their winter coats on and this is at my old house.
