Hello, BITS members! My name is Cortney and I'm the newest addition to BITS. I already had the pleasure of meeting Gwen, but now I want to meet all of you. So, here's a little info about me.
I'm 19 and I live in So Cal. I've been riding horses since I was 6 and have ridden both english and western. I enjoy both equally. I don't currently own my own horses, but my little sister just got her first horse this week so hopefully I'll be able to ride it a little. It's a 7 year old, tri-colored paint gelding. He's from Montana and he's absolutely gorgeous. Today we just found out he can really jump. He was turned out in the arena and just cleared the arena fence! None of the other horses at the ranch have ever cleared the fences. Needless to say, the horse got loose and my sister had to go catch him. All is well now, though.
As for the sim world, I have been playing sim games since I was about 12. I have focused on everything from western events to flat racing/steeplechasing. I'm not sure of what I want to focus on in BITS yet, so any input would be greatly appreciated.
Anyway, I'm excited to get started in BITS and I'm looking forward to meeting all my fellow members. TTYL!

Welcome! =) I'm Rainbow. You can read all about me in my introductory post (farther down this board) but essentially I'm a dressage rider. =) I own Wildwind Equestrian Centre in the game. If you get into dressage, stadium jumping, or hunters in the game, I'd recommend boarding with us at WEC!

Hello again, Cortney! =) Welcome to BITS! I'm Maya, and you can find out more about me in my intro post at the bottom of this board lol. I'm an eventer, though I focus very strongly on Dressage and Showjumping. Anyway, I'm trying to get the BITS flatracing scene off the ground, so if you wanted to bring in some TBs, I wouldn't complain! I'm also hoping to make Eventing really big here. My stable, Camelot Enterprises, LTD, is also open to boarding temporarily. Though if you have racehorses, there will be the option of staying longer, as there are no other stables in BITS with racing facilities. Anyway, that wasn't really as coherent as I would have liked, but whatever. Welcome to BITS, we're happy to have you =)

Whoo! New member. ^_^ Hiya Cortney. I'm Evanthe and I board at WEC. I concentrate mostly on draft breeds and training them to not only drive and pull, but to ride undersaddle. Currently all of my drafts do dressage and driving. I have one that jumps and one that does english pleasure as well. Later on in the game I plan on getting a few drafts and training them in western events as well. So, if you want to join a couple drafts that would be awsome. ^_^ Although, TBs are needed to make the flat racing in BITS bigger. It is all your decision though.

Thanks for the welcome, girls! I actually think I'm going to try Quarter Horses and Paints in western and hunter events. I'd like to board at Gwens stable if that's okay with her. I might also get an eventer or two.
As for draft breeds, I love drafts. There are a few drafts at the stable I go to and they are so sweet. One is a Clydesdale mare and she is so adorable and sweet (and big!). There's also a Percheron cross gelding that is gorgeous and super talented; he can do anything from western/trail to jumping. I just love those big guys!
Anyway, thanks for the welcome! Now I need to go an register some horses.

^_^ I love draft horses. I want one so bad. It's hard to beleive something so big can be such a puppy dog, you know? My dream is to own one. I love all of the draft breeds, but I think that a Shire would be my breed of choice. ^_^ Their feathering is so darn pretty. Next to that are Percherons though. I saw a bunch of them at the fair this year in a halter class and they are pretty, great movers as well. I'm in the process of talking my grandma and grandpa into letting me have one at one of the many properties that they own. My grandpa has this strange obsession with buying little bits(or in some cases not so little) of land and building random houses on them......he has atleast three that I have been to.....there are more speckled across Indian and I think they might be getting a piece of land in Hawaii soon.......anywho. Drafts are something to think about in the future! *hint hint, nudge nudge* ^_^

I met a Shire at this weekend Eventing camp we have every year for the younger pony clubbers, and he was the cutest thing I've ever met. He was only 5, and had never really done anything [he's a jousting horse, and someone just borrowed him to use for the weekend.]... but he learned how to leg yield in about 5 seconds, and he didn't even look at a single cross country fence. I want one now. His name was Angus. =D

Yeah, when we were horse-shopping for my sister last week one of the ranches we looked at had a 2 year old bay clydesdale filly. She was the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen. I wanted to take her home right then (especially since the ranch was a complete dump; we later reported them to the ASPCA). She was so sweet and just wanted you to pet her all the time. I really wanted her, but alas: no money. Lol! Maybe someday I'll get a clyde baby of my own.

At the barn where I used to ride, there was a 3/4 percheron, 1/4 paint gelding, who was absolutely the cutest thing ever. He was only three, but already had amazing ground manners and was so sweet. =) I wanted him desperately. But, the owners weren't selling and I, like you, Cortney lol, have no money. Whenever you went out to his pasture, all his buddies would keep grazing, but he'd come up to you to see if you had any treats for him - if not, he'd beg for his face to be rubbed lol.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever met a single mean draft horse. No wonder they call them the gentle giants. Anyway, where did you get that avatar Cortney, or did you make it yourself? I love it! I was looking around for avatars today and found this Mr. Ed one, but I really wanted a draft avatar for my interests sake, lol.

I made my avatar. I don't usually like using pre-made graphics because I have all my own graphic utilities. They're Gypsy Vanners - so gorgeous.
On another note, I just finished registering my first 4 horses: 2 QH stallions and 2 Paint mares. Yay!

Aw, your lucky. I don't have any good graphic software. I love it, it looks great. Gypsy Vanners are another breed that I like. ^_^
Yay horses! Can't wait to here about them in updates.

Gypsy Vanners are amazing horses... They're so beautiful. I love the icon, of course, if you can't tell lol. And I'm with you Evanthe, with a lack of good graphics software (I do like the Mr. Ed icon though lol).
Can't wait to hear about all your horses when you update on them! =) (This is a very subtle hint to update lol)

Wow, that takes dedication! And patience. LOL. I'm generally way too lazy to put much effort into graphics.... but I've kind of started playing with my new Photoshop, and it has some pretty fun new features... So the fun factor is overcoming the laziness, slightly.

Wow... I admire your patience, Cortney lol. In relation to some things, I think I'm relatively patient, but that would *not* be one of them. Thank goodness for developments in graphics software lol. =P Like Maya's photoshop, which she is very lazy about... lol, j/k! =P The graphic on your new site for Camelot is very nice lol.

Wow. My parents pretty much don't buy me much, but then again, I do have a job and they *do* pay for college, so I guess I get off pretty well. Besides, if I asked my mom to buy me illustrator or photoshop, she would prolly get me print shop and think it was the same things. She is good at using CAD, but not a graphics thing.
