I've been needing a lot of help lately....
Anyway, I have been e-mailing people about using horse pictures, yet none of them have gotten back to me for quite a few weeks. Does anyone have any advice on getting people to respond, or finding horse pictures? Can I use the picture and credit them even if they don't get back to me? I'm a little slow, so sorry.

You just have to keep trying until someone responds... if they don't, it probably means they don't want the picture used and just don't have the courtesy to take you seriously and reply.

I've actually never had that happen, but I generally use this type of format: Hi. My name is Gwen Sams. I ran across your webpage looking for pictures of horse to use for my SIM horses. I play a game called BITS and I was looking for foal pics. I absolutely adore the foal that you have named "Echo". I would love to use these pics and was wondering if you would be kind enough to let me? I would fully credit you in anyway that you would like me too and will ONLY use these pictures with your permission. If you would allow me the use of these pictures, I would be ever so grateful! If you would like to check out the SIM game that I belong to, I understand. The link is www.mayakenedy.com/bits/ . Thanks for your time! That is something I sent awhile. They may be less likely to respond if you don't give them the URL.

Hey, what breeds are you looking for? I have a few QH sites that I have permission for, and a couple of Miniature sites too.....

Thanks, but I'm looking for warmbloods. I bet their snotty hunter barns and can't bother themselves to get back to me.

Probably true. Stock breed people are generally really nice about it.

Ugh, I know. I hate being labeled as a hunter rider though. I should stop posting that in my intro posts. People will start to avoid me. Shellz, yeah I've been googling different breeds, and the only problem is the annoying people who don't reply.

You know, I just had a good idea. Maybe we should compile a list of sites with horse pictures. These could be good sites, where people actually respond and say yes to using pictures. Or would that swamp them with too many e-mails? Hmmm, if we had a big enough list it might not be too much of a problem.

Perhaps we could somehow find people who would be willing to let any picture of their be used in BITS? I don't know if they would like that idea, or if they would want to be informed of each usage... That way no one would have to email about every single picture they want to use... I dunno. I remember a few years ago in TROT Janena sent out a list like this, but I couldn't find it again...

Hm, yeah you could possibly use something like that. It would be a lot easier... and less headache inducing, especially when dealing with the aforementioned snotty hunter riders.

You could also add a section to post farms/people who don't reply, so people know not to waste their time trying to contact them...
